PCC Freemind (“nous”, “notre” or “notre”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application (the “App”) designed to connect youths with counselors for support in hygiene, mental health, and social life.

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information that you provide directly to us and information about your use of the App.

  • a. Personal Information You Provide:
    • Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, date of birth (to verify you are a youth or an adult counselor), and a password.
    • Profile Information: You may choose to provide additional details such as your interests, concerns, and goals to help match you with a suitable counselor.
    • Health Information: To facilitate counseling, you will provide sensitive information related to your mental health, hygiene habits, and social life during conversations with your counselor. This data is treated with the highest level of security and confidentiality.
    • Communications: All text-based chats, messages, and any other communications you have with your counselor through the App are stored securely.
    • Payment Information: If you choose to access premium features, our third-party payment processor will collect and store your payment information. We do not store your full credit card or mobile money details on our servers.
  • b. Information Collected Automatically:
    • Usage Data: We collect data on how you interact with the App (e.g., features used, time spent, session frequency).
    • Device Data: We may collect information about your device, including IP address, operating system, device type, and mobile network information.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • To create and manage your account.
  • To match you with a qualified counselor.
  • To facilitate and record your counseling sessions.
  • To provide, maintain, and improve the App’s services.
  • To communicate with you about your account, appointments, and updates to our services.
  • To ensure the security and integrity of our platform.
  • To comply with legal obligations under Cameroonian law.

3. How We Share Your Information

Your privacy is paramount, especially your health data. We do not sell your personal information.

  • With Counselors: Your information and chat history are shared with the counselor you are matched with to provide effective support.
  • Service Providers: We share data with trusted third-party vendors who perform services for us (e.g., cloud hosting, data analysis, customer support). These partners are bound by strict data protection agreements.
  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by Cameroonian law, such as to comply with a legal request from a competent authority under Law No. 2010/012, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of ourselves or others.
  • Crisis Situations: If there is a credible threat of serious and imminent harm to yourself or others, we may be obligated to disclose necessary information to emergency services to prevent such harm. Our counselors are trained to follow these protocols.

4. Data Security

We implement robust administrative, technical, and physical security measures designed to protect your personal information, especially your sensitive health data. This includes encryption of data in transit (using SSL/TLS) and at rest. However, no electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Your Data Rights

Under Cameroonian law, you have the right to:

  • Access and receive a copy of your personal data.
  • Correct or update inaccurate data.
  • Request deletion of your personal data.
  • Object to the processing of your data on legitimate grounds.

PCC Freemind is intended for youths. For users under the legal age of majority in Cameroon, we strongly recommend that use of the App be undertaken with the knowledge and consent of a parent or guardian.

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the “Last Updated” date.
